Our Story
They had an amazing first summer and holiday season together in 2018 while Chase and Merick were with them. Everything felt so natural and making memories together as a new family seemed like it was meant to be, even though it really hadn't been very long at all. After a trip to Ohio to meet Katie's parents, and a couple trips with Ryan's parents out in California, they had met each other's parents but their parent's had never met each other...and never would without some planning. So, they planned a trip to Hawaii and decided - let's get all our parents to go too! After only a year of dating, and the families never meeting, they joked that this was insane, but everyone got along great and it turned out perfect! Ryan proposed on their last night in Hawaii, March 1 2019, in front of their entire family.
The year of 2019 quickly turned into a whirlwind of a year when Katie and Ryan decided to put a deposit down on building a new home together later that same month! They sold her house a couple months later and moved in together in Ryan's house until their home was ready in September 2019.Â
They finally started wedding planning after things settled down at the end of 2019 and by March 2020, they were ready to set a date - November 6 2020 - and get married later that year. The week they were sending in the contract, the world shut down because of Covid 19 and really has not been the same since! Fast forward two years to the same weekend, and they are getting married that same first Friday in November it was meant to be in 2020....but hopefully without the covid restrictions and limitations!Â
Gift Registry

Over the last few years, we have focused on building and decorating our new home together so we're lucky to already have a home full of everything we need. Instead of a traditional wedding registry, we have opted for a HoneyFund so that we can plan our dream honeymoon!

We have a block of 20 rooms at the SpringHill Suites in Solon which is only 15-20 minutes away from Sapphire Creek. We will also have a courtesy shuttle to and from the wedding, as long as we have 10 booked rooms. We are not anticipating that being an issue, so count on the shuttle. :)

FLYING INTO CLEVELAND (CLE): Tips, tricks & our recommendations
We fly back and forth between California and Ohio a lot, as you probably know, here are our recommendations:


BEST VALUE / FASTEST ROUTE
Spirit : Direct LAX > CLE
We know, Spirit gets a bad rep. That said, we have flown this particular route many times and have always had great customer service and experience with them. Spirit will sometimes get delayed, so not having a layover it preferable. Upgrade to an exit row for a little more room. If you don't like spending all day traveling, or don't have time for a connection, this is truly a great option.


FASTEST ROUTE (that isn't Spirit)
United: Direct LAX > CLE
United is not my favorite, but they make the list for having a direct flight to CLE & getting there fast when you are losing 3 hours is not nothing.


BEST "I AM NOT GOING TO LAX" OPTION
Delta: ONT > ATL > CLE
If you fly out of Ontario, you will definitely have a layover and if you are going to have a layover, you can't beat Atlanta. It is a common layover route to Ohio and filled with full scale restaurants, bars and things to do like PF Changs, Fridays, Longhorn, Sam Adams Brewery, etc, Plus, the tram makes it super easy to navigate even though it is a HUGE airport so you can hop around terminals even on not-so-long layovers.

Cuyahoga Falls, OH -Amazing food and atmosphere, along the Riverfront in downtown Cuyahoga Falls, where we took our engagement photos. Great small-town downtown area to walk around.

LEO'S ITALIAN SOCIAL
Cuyahoga Falls, OH - Great Italian food in the same area as Burntwood Tavern. Also a location in Westlake closer to Cleveland.

MISSING MOUNTAIN BREWING COMPANY
Cuyahoga Falls, OH - Our favorite spot for local beers, especially IPAs! Along the river in downtown Cuyahoga Falls.

NOBLE BEAST BREWING COMPANY
Cleveland, OH - Great local beers and great food not far from CLE Airport. We discovered this spot this year and will definitely be back!

October 31 at FirstEnergy Stadium for anyone wanting to travel early and see a football game in Cleveland! Tailgate in the "Muni lot" before to see why Browns fans have so much fun! (Located at 1500 S. Marginal Rd)

Local small chain drive-in style fast food stop known mostly for awesome burgers. Try a galley boy burger and potato teasers! They also have a few signature drinks and the BEST crushed ice!

STRICKLAND'S FROZEN CUSTARD
Classic east-coast style soft serve ice cream you won't get anywhere near California.

VINCENT'S DONUTS
Small family-owned bakery in Cuyahoga Falls just a block or two away from her Grandparents' house. Get a chocolate cream stick…and whatever else looks delicious!

ROCKNE'S PUB
Local small chain "everything" kind of place. Nothing fancy, just a great lunch spot you can grab a meal and a Great Lakes beer at!
